"DEI action is needed in the field of physical therapy to better represent the entire community within our profession.  When my students, patients, or their siblings see people who look like them succeeding as PTs, they will have a better connection to the profession and see it as an achievable career for themselves. There are obvious economic and health disparities between racial groups and different geographical communities, and this is one way PTs and rehab professionals can help close this gap. For our country and world to enjoy health and prosperity as a whole, we must have unity to promote peace and security for all of its citizens."
